Who we are

OpenSauce designs, builds and manages websites, online ordering and reservations for restaurants, cafés and independent food businesses. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it. Questions? Email us at hello@opensauce.example.

What we collect and why

  • Enquiries: when you request a mock-up or contact us, we collect your name, business name, email and phone number so we can respond to you.
  • Orders and reservations: when you order or book through one of the restaurant websites we operate, we collect the details needed to fulfil that order or booking (name, contact details, order contents, party size and time). We process this on behalf of the restaurant, who is the data controller for their customers.
  • Billing: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything beyond providing the service. We use only essential cookies — no tracking or advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details are kept while we correspond with you and for up to two years afterwards. Order and reservation records are kept for as long as the restaurant needs them for their own records and legal obligations.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@opensauce.example and we'll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Third parties we rely on

We use a small number of processors to run the service: our hosting provider (servers in the EU), Stripe (payments) and our email delivery provider (transactional notifications). Each processes data only on our instructions.
